As an attorney I want to win for my clients. I want my client to have a basic understanding of how the law bears upon his/her case. I want my client to testify in a clear, orderly and credible manner. I also want the judge or the jury to know my client's appealing traits and to identify with my client.
I want to get to know my client so that I know what she/he might do in a given circumsatnce so that I know my client fears, sensitivities and point of view so that during the trial the client and I will be on the same page.

BACKGROUND

I was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey in 1946 and received a B.A. from Rutgers College, located in New Brunswick, New Jersey, in 1968 and I received a Juris Doctorate from Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey in 1971.
While in law school, I frequently appeared in municipal court and landlord/tenant court representing indigent clients under a special court rule, which allowed third year law students working part time for Newark Legal Services to represent indigent clients in these courts.
I was admitted to the practice of law in the State of New Jersey and in the Federal Courts for the state of New Jersey on November 30, 1971. I have maintained a private practice as a sole practitioner since November of 1980. Prior to practicing as a sole practitioner, I was employed by the Newark-Essex Joint Law Reform Project for approximately 10 months beginning in August of 1971, conducting rent strikes for tenants who were trying to improve their quality of life. Then, I was employed by the Office of the Public Defender between 1972 and 1978, working as a Public Defender in Newark until 1976 and in Hackensack between 1976 and 1978, representing adults charged with serious criminal offenses and trying many jury trials. Between 1978 and 1980, I was an associate working for a sole practitioner in Hackensack who maintained a law practice involving the general practice of law.
